SC verdict on ballot paper issue on Wednesday

Kathmandu, Oct 17 : The Supreme Court would on Wednesday announce its verdict on the writ petition filed demanding two separate ballot papers for the election of House of Representatives and State Assemblies.

A division bench of Judges—Deepakraj Joshi and Purushottam Bhandari, will announce the verdict in this regard.

Vice-Chairperson and Parliamentary Party leader of the Rastriya Janata Party (RJP)-Nepal, Sarbendra Nath Sukla had on October 7 filed the writ petition, naming the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers and Election Commission as defendants.

The EC, however, has already prepared model ballot papers with the voting section of federation above and of the province below. It has also printed ballot papers for proportional representation (PR) category of the election.
