Newly appointed ministers assigned portolios

Kathmandu, Oct 17 : Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on Tuesday assigned the newly appointed ministers (without portfolios ) to look after various ministries.

As a result, those ministers from the government coalition partner CPN (Maoist Centre) who were looking after the ministries were left without portfolio. As per the Cabinet reshuffle, Deputy Prime Minister Kamal Thapa has been given the task of running the Ministry of Energy.

Likewise, Jayant Chand has been assigned to look after the Ministry of Supplies, while Dilnath Giri the Ministry of Urban Development and Bikram Bahadur Thapa the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare.

Dipak Bohara has been tasked with running the Ministry of Health. Before the reshuffle, Bohara served as a minister for Science and Technology.

Minister of State Kunti Kumari Shahi has been assigned to the Ministry of Urban Development, while state minister Bhaskar Bhadra the Ministry of Energy, state minister Sushil Kumar Shrestha the Ministry of Supplies, and state minister Kanta Bhattarai the Ministry Women, Children and Social Welfare.

PM Deuba will himself run the Ministries of Home, Foreign Affairs, Livestock Development, Science and Technology, Peace and Reconstruction, and General Administration, said the PM's private Secretariat.
